Internet Technician – Installation and Repair

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Internet Services Supervisor, the Internet Technician isresponsible for installing, upgrading, removing, troubleshooting, and repairing internet equipment, as well as participating in tower maintenance and supporting external network and server operations to ensure reliable EIDNet services for residential and business customers throughout the District. This role works closely with other Internet Technicians to provide backup Help Desk and office support, and requires availability for “on call” service outside regular business hours during designated periods.

The individual must have a broad set of qualifications and skills, including, but not limited to:

  • Computer Information Services Diploma or equivalent education in electronics, IT, or other relevant technical fields
  • Working knowledge of electronics, digital radio technology, and IP networking (LAN and WAN)
  • Strong organization and interpersonal skills with the ability to solve problems in a technical environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability and willingness to work independently as well as productively and cooperatively in a team environment
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence

Equipment Operator - Dozer

Job Summary

The Eastern Irrigation District (EID), Brooks, Alberta, seeks a full time EQUIPMENT OPERATOR - DOZER to join our Construction team.

Under the direction of the Equipment Superintendent, the Equipment Operator is responsible for maintaining the EID irrigation distribution and draining system including the cleaning of ditches, repairing of washouts, installing culverts/structures/pipelines, and placing riprap, armour, or gravel.

The individual must have a broad set of qualifications and skills, including, but not limited to:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience; having versatility in operating various heavyduty equipment considered an asset but willing to train the right candidate.
  • Basic surveying experience, working with Laser’s & GPS.
  • Basic knowledge of earthworks.
  • Knowledge of site plans.
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence.

District 12 North Rolling Hills Water Operator

Job Summary

The Eastern Irrigation District (EID), Brooks, Alberta, seeks a seasonal District 12 North Rolling Hills Water Operator to join our water delivery team. This position may have potential to transition into a full-time position.

The Water Operator, reporting to the Superintendent, works alongside 11 other divisional team members. This position is responsible for receiving and responding to water delivery and cancellation orders from farmers and other water users, monitoring and maintenance of water delivery and drainage infrastructure, and working as part of a construction crew during the non-irrigation season. The Water Operator will be required to be on call 24/7 for the water season May-October.

The individual must have a broad set of skills and competencies, including, but not limited to:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, produce accurate results, and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability and willingness to work independently as well as productively and cooperatively in a team environment
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence required

Automotive Service Technician

Job Summary

The Eastern Irrigation District (EID), Brooks, Alberta, seeks a full time AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE TECHNICIAN to join our Shop Department.

The Automotive Service Technician, reporting to the Shop Supervisor, is responsible for the repair of all EID trucks, small trailers, quads, and office-yard trimmers and mowers in a fast-paced environment.

The individual must have a broad set of qualifications and skills, including, but not limited to:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of automotive repair and maintenance experience
  • Journeyman Automotive Service Technician Certification
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Effective organizational and time-management abilities
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence required
